The Adult Speech and Drama Class aims to develop ongoing confidence, self-esteem and skill in verbal communication. Ideal for those wishing to learn the basics & for those who are more experienced & wish to hone their skills.
The course will introduce you to vocal and dramatic exercises, improvisation, devising, the exploration of text and storytelling whilst building a strong sense of teamwork, individual work and encouragement of self-motivation and study. Students will also look at developing acting skills, including different styles of acting and theatre, the development character, scenes and relationships, voice, speech and movement.
There is also the option to work towards your Trinity Exams Grade in both Acting and Speech & Drama.
These classes introduce the student to the use and application of the technical aspects of performance, with an awareness of physical and vocal expression. Exploring the following areas:
Technique – voice, & body to communicate meaning
Interpretation – engaging emotionally & intellectually with text/words
Knowledge/understanding – understanding, acting theories, background to classical and modern English drama, principles that support English verse & prose
