The Theatre Workshop is designed for teens who are serious about performing and want to solidify their technique through skills based classes and staging theatrical productions. Theses two courses aim to train young Actors and Musical Theatre performers to develop confidence, teamwork and co-operation, promote an enjoyment of drama and theatre, and develop skills in movement and voice. The course also covers an overview of back stage: working with costume and prop making, set design, lighting and sound, though practical applications of lighting and sound can only be demonstrated when we are in the theatre.
In order to maintain a high standard, performers must audition for this course and it should be noted that if a performer is accepted on the course there must be a high level of commitment and attendance. More information the audition process can be found here: Auditions
As both Theatre Workshop Acting, and Musical Theatre courses are currently in rehearsals for their Class Presentations / main production of the year respectively, we are opening an introductory “holding class” on Saturday afternoons between 2pm – 4pm, as of 26th March 2018, until the end of Term 3 (July 7th) It will be led by our Head of Production and Theatre Workshop Acting teacher, Glyn Connop – and will provide a great introduction to the course.
