This October half term Centre Stage are hosting a Workshop facilitated by two specialist teachers all the way from Tring Park School for the Performing Arts in the UK. The Workshop will run from Monday 16th – Friday 20th October from 9.30am to 3pm each day. It will be for 8 to 14 year olds (split in to two age appropriate groups) It is an absolutely fantastic opportunity for any young performers to work with industry professionals.
The course will cover the three core vocational skills required to be successful in today’s competitive performing arts industry. Participants will experience first-hand the professional tuition from two of Tring Parks leading teaching faculty.
The pupils will explore script work, improvisation and a range of current musical theatre repertoire. The course will culminate in a short presentation of work by the internationally renowned and award winning writers George Stiles and Anthony Drewe whose recent successes include ‘Wind in the Willows’, ‘Mary Poppins’ and ‘Peter Pan’.

Elizabeth trained at The Arts Educational School, where she graduated gaining her ISTD Associate in Tap and her VCM Associate in Drama. She then gained a place at the prestigious Bristol Old Vic Theatre School graduating with a BA in Stage Management and Technical Theatre. She also taught in dance schools in and around Bristol and completed her ISTD Associate in Modern. Elizabeth also achieved qualified teacher status with the University of Gloucester. Elizabeth has directed and choreographed many productions including ‘Seussical’, ‘Bugsy Malone’, ‘A Midsummer Nights Dream’, ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ and ‘The Boyfriend’. Elizabeth joined the faculty at Tring Park in September 2004. In 2008 she was promoted to Head of Theatre Arts. In 2012 she also took on the role of Head of Planning for the School.
Chris initially trained as a classical French Horn player. However, his interest in the theatre led him to Middlesex Polytechnic where he was able to develop his skills as a Conductor and Musical Director. He graduated with a BA (Hons) in Performance Arts.
He has worked professionally as a Musical Director/Conductor, most recently for the original West End production of Dirty Dancing. Other credits as Musical Director include Saturday Night Fever (Apollo Victoria, two UK tours and the Scandinavian) and Starlight Express in Germany. He was also the assistant Musical Director on both the Germany production and the Swiss/European Tour of Cats.
Chris joined the faculty at Tring Park in September 2012 as Musical Director for the Theatre Arts and Performance Foundation Courses.
