Ali&#8217;s professional career began in Panto &#8211; as Daisy the Cow, in Leatherhead. (Side bar: she insisted the back is the comedy end!) Some of her favourite theatre roles have included, Shriley in &#8220;Top of the Town&#8221;, Nicholas Tooley &#8211; A Shakespearean Boy Player in &#8220;A Cry of Players&#8221;, UK Toyr. These were original and new works so Ali particularly loved being part of the development of these characters and working alongside the writers and directors. Other favourite roles include &#8211; Mum\/Jo in &#8220;Too Much Punch&#8221; a TIE touring production, and Viola in &#8220;Twelfth Night&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>After a break from Acting, Ali retrained as a teacher, opened Centre Stage in 1999 as a place where children could explore both the concrete and imaginative world. Ali has continued to perform alongside running Centre Stage over her time in Singapore, favourite roles include: Landlady &#8220;Two&#8221; &#8211; Ensemble Theatre Company and Gail in &#8220;Teachers&#8221; &#8211; directed by Hannah Chiswick. For Centre Stage: PC Jolly Berry in &#8220;A Christmas Carrot&#8221; and Hairy Godmother in &#8220;A Right Rubbish Christmas&#8221; pantos.
