As ever, we had an amazing time with Broadway’s Nikki Snelson this weekend!
Nikki Snelson is most recognised for her work on Broadway in LEGALLY BLONDE. After creating the role in the world premiere in San Francisco, Nikki would originate the role of Brooke Wyndam in the Broadway production of Legally Blonde: The Musical. The musical was broadcast nationally on MTV. Performing with the musical on Broadway for over a year, she was also featured on the reality casting show Legally Blonde: The Musical: The Search for the Next Elle Woods. After Legally Blonde, Nikki headlined the First National Revival Tour of A Chorus Line, starring in the iconic role of Cassie. She has also starred as the ingenue on Broadway in ANNIE GET YOUR GUN (starring Bernadette Peters) and in SWEET CHARITY (starring Christina Applegate). Miss Snelson performed in the National Tours of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, SHOW BOAT, HELLO, DOLLY, and Jonathan Larson’s TICK TICK…BOOM(Susan)! Snelson originated the role of The Mad Hatter in Frank Wildhorn’s Wonderland. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Nikki Snelson made her professional debut at the age of 16 at the Muny. She furthered her training with the BFA Musical Theatre program of the Boston Conservatory. Recently, Nikki played Velma in CHICAGO at Maine State Theater and Sally Bowles in CABARET at The Napa Valley Opera House. Snelson was featured in the groundbreaking documentary EVERY LITTLE STEP as well in the major motion pictures REEFER MADNESS and ACCROSS THE UNIVERSE. On the small screen, Nikki has been seen on Desperate Housewives and All My Children. Ms Snelson has directed, choreographed, and taught in Argentina, Chile, France, Ireland, England, Singapore, Australia, Indonesia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Thailand, The Philippines and beyond. She is currently serving on staff for Shock:Dance Intensive and The US Embassy’s American Voices program. She is an artist in residence at Singapore’s famed theater school,Lasalle College of the Arts and the Artist Director of Rochester Broadway Theater League’s Summer Star program.
