Through weekly 2-hour sessions, you’ll explore the unique demands of TV and film acting, learning how to convey emotion and build compelling characters in front of the camera. You’ll work with scripts, understand the technical aspects of working on set, and develop confidence in hitting your marks and taking direction. From close-up shots to mastering subtle, authentic performances, The Lens will prepare you for the competitive world of screen acting, leaving you camera-ready and confident. Using physicality, space, and hitting your marks on set.
Week 5: See, Hear, Speak
Mastering vocal techniques and understanding camera eye lines.
Week 6: Improvisation and the Actor’s Toolkit
Staying in the moment on screen and using props effectively.
Week 7: Rehearsing for On-Screen Performance
Preparing scenes for screen and building relationships on camera.
Week 8: Audition Techniques and Continuity
Perfecting screen auditions and maintaining consistency across takes.
Week 9: The Power of the Close-Up

Week 10: Final Film Project & Review
Shooting final scenes and receiving in-depth performance feedback.
These classes run 120 minutes (4:30 pm to 6:30 pm) on Thursdays at Centre Stage School of the Arts – 15 Woking Road.
