This 10-week Audition Technique course is tailored for 8 to 14 year olds in acting and musical theatre. Focused sessions cover sight reading, monologues, song choices, and essential audition etiquette. Taught by professionals, the programme builds confidence and sharpens skills, preparing young performers to stand out and succeed in auditions with clarity and authenticity.

Week 1: Introduction to Auditions
Overview of audition types, expectations, and how to make a strong first impression.
Week 2: Sight Reading
Techniques for handling scripts and delivering spontaneous, authentic performances.
Week 3: Monologue Selection & Preparation
Choosing and preparing age-appropriate monologues with a focus on character and story.
Week 4: Monologue Delivery
Performing monologues with intention, presence, and vocal clarity.
Week 5: Song Selection (Musical Theatre)
Selecting a song suited to each student’s strengths, focusing on range and expression.
Week 6: Vocal Technique for Auditions
Developing projection, control, and expressiveness in singing auditions.
Week 7: Movement & Physicality
Using body language and physical choices to enhance character portrayal.
Week 8: Audition Etiquette & Professionalism
Understanding behavior and etiquette in auditions; dealing with nerves and setbacks.
Week 9: Mock Auditions & Feedback
Simulated audition experiences with immediate feedback to refine skills.
Week 10: Final Performances & Reflection
Presenting monologues or songs for a small audience, followed by constructive reflection on growth and goals.
These classes run 120 minutes (4:30 pm to 6:30 pm) on Fridays at Centre Stage School of the Arts – 15 Woking Road.
